Ty & Lyric Ty's truck bumped along the gravel road, his horse, Lyric giving long whinny's of excitement. With a laugh, Ty looked into the rear view mirror to see her muzzle poking out of the window. He hoped today would go well, and Delia wouldn't mind him coming along to help with the foal. She seems so.. so.. broken... Ty thought to himself in saddness for her. It made him wonder what happened, but no, he would not say anything, or ask about her past at all. She would tell him if she wanted to, and that didn't bug him. His past was difficult as well, and talking about it was hard, something he never did on his own accord. A soft whine interuped his thoughts. Jet sat beside him, his head out the window, never had a dog been more excited. "Okay, okay, we're just about there." Ty laughed, and reached out to stratch his back. Soon, his truck pulled into the beginning of the trails, and he put the truck into park. Jumping out, he let Jet out, and the German Shepherd instantley began to sniff around, marking his territory everywhere. Walking around to the back, he opened the trailer, and walked in to untie Lyric. She was a retired racehorse, that Ty had rescued from certain death. "C'mon girl. Delia and Crystal with be here soon." He smiled, and gave her a pat on her dark chestnut neck. The mare's coat was almost bay in the winter, and more chestnut in the summer. Tying her to the side of the trailer, he gave her a quick brush over, making sure all the loose hair and dirt was free from her glistening coat. Lyric looked back at him, her face looking expectant. "I know what you want." He grinned, and took a treat out of his pocket to give to the mare. She lipped it greadily from his hand, then he went to get his light western saddle. He set the blanket and saddle on the mare's back, and tightened the girth. Next, he got the bridle on her, and checked the saddle one more time for tightness. "Jet!"Ty called, looking around to make sure he hadn't wandered off. He bounded out from the trees, with a happy bark, and Lyric simply looked back, to see what all the commosion was. She had gotten used to Jet's sudden outbursts, and seemed to expect it now.

Delia grinned as she tied the black and purpled lead around the saddle horn, leaving enough room for the filly to move about, but not enought for her to get tangled, just as Crystal had insturcted. The four month old filly was happy as could be to be going with her mother. This was the first time Secret had been ready to go on a trail ride since Breeze was born, and Secret was practically pacing, ready to get moving. Her black and white coat gleamed as Delia led her into the sunlight, her filly trailing behind her. Both horses were quite beautiful, and Deli looked behind her to see Crystal giving Navajo a glare as the filly tried to avoid being tied to Sierra. Renga pranced around Delia's heels, eager to see what was going on. Delia knelt down adn rubbed the puppy, giving her a hug before standing again. Crystal had finally managed to argue Navajo into submission, the brown and white filly still giving her mischevious looks. "Ready to go?" Crystal asked her, swinging into the saddle. Delia nodded, and picked up Renga, placing her on Secret's rump. the mare gave the dog a glance, but didn't make a fuss over it as Delia managed to get onto the very tall Gypsy vanner mare. reaching behind her, she pulled Renga into her lap, and the puppy gave her a big lick across the face. Delia laughed, and picked up the reins with her right hand, using her left to hold Renga in place. Sierra was eager to go as well, and kept giving Navajo glares for slowing them down. Finally everyone was ready to go, and they headed down the gravel driveway, and onto the half paved road that led to the trails. After about a ten minute ride, they arrived in the parking lot, and Delia was shocked to see Ty there, saddling up what looked to be bay mare. as they drew closer, Delia realised the mare just looked dark, she actually wasn't a bay, it was her winter coat that gave her the appearance of black stockings. Crystal smiled to herself, glad Delia wasn't backing out because Ty was here. "Hey there!" Crystal called, saying it just loud enough for him to hear, but not loud enough to scare his horse, just in case she was afraid of that kind of thing. Crystal spotted the german shepherd, Jet, running around on the ground, and Delia hesitated on whether she should put Renga down or not. "You think Jet would mind if Delia let Renga walk?" Crystal asked him, as she guided Sierra to a stop a short distance away, so that his horse would be less excited about their presence.
Delia gave a short uncertain wave, and smiled in greeting. It tok all she had, but she was proud of herself for managing it.She wondered if this was a breakthrough, if she would ever be able to accept people again, she had to be able to accept someone like Ty. She pulled the 17 HH mare to a halt next to Crystal's quarter horse, who looked rather small in comparison to the large mare, even though Sierra was a fairly big quarter horse. Breeze was looking evrwhere her eyes could go, her ears perked forward and her little foal hooves prancing. She was eager to see everything and anything she could of this new place. Navajo was doing the same, since she had never been here either. Even though Navajo was older, the fillys were almost the same size, and really got along well. They looked alot alike, with Navajo having more white than Breeze, and being a lighter brown. Their build was different, one being Gypsy Vanner and the other Missouri Foxtrotter. Breeze had a different personality too, she was eager to please, while Navajo loved to get all the attention, and be stubburn and have her way. Sierra, the buckskin mare Crystal was riding, had very high black stockings, and a black mane and tail. Her ears were tipped in black, and she had a long mane and tail, almost as long as Secret's, who's tail drug the ground. Currently, Sierra and secret were interested in the new mare they could see, that their masters were holding them away from...

Ty walked to Lyric's head, and brushed her forelock out from her bright eyes. The mare then turned, in a nicker of greeting, and Ty looked over Lyric's back to see Delia and Crystal, with their horses. Hey there! Ty heard Cystal call, and he untied Lyric to turn her around so she could meet the other horses. "Hey!" Ty smiled, holding Lyric back a bit so she wouldn't go to eagerly to meet the horses. You think Jet would mind if Delia let Renga walk? Ty brought his head up, and glanced at the little pup in Delia's lap. "Go right ahead." His deep voice spoke to her, patting his knee so Jet could come and see Renga.
Seeing Delia wave, Ty grinned and waved back. "Hey, Delia. So you two all set?" He asked them, looking to the little filly, Breeze, and seeing her eager to set out on the trails. Checking Lyric's girth one more time, he put his left foot into the stirrup, and mounted, Lyric prancing beneath him, her head bobbing, cleaerly resenting the idea of keeping her from the other horses at first. "This is Lyric." Ty told them, then continued to speak. "She can be spirited, but I think she'll get along fine with your horses." He told them, putting Lyric's reins in one hand, turning her to the beginning of the trail.
Jet, seeing that they were finally going somewhere, leapt from the underbrush, his tongue hanging out of his mouth as he followed Lyric, and Ty gave a small laugh at him. Lyric stopped, and looking back, still curious of the other horses. Ty was keeping her back until Crystal or Delia said it was alright for him to bring her forward. He hoped they would get along, but didn't think he had to worry, as Lyric had her ears pricked, head up, and nickered to them, showing no signs of agression.

Delia hesiatated only a moment, before setting Renga on Secret's rump again, and dismounting to set the eager pup on the ground. Renga was wagging her tail eagerly as Delia sat her down, and she shot off like a rocket, wagging her tail and weaving in and out of Secret's legs, much to Secret's amusement. Secret lowered her head, nudging the pup with her nose as she ran by again. Delia grinned, and gave Renga a reprimanding look. The pup slowed down immediatly, with a slightly sorrowful expression on her face, before bounding off to greet the other dog.. Delia hoped the other dog would tolerate her, she was only a puppy after all. Delia noted the mare Ty was leading, and mounted up. She watched Secret for any signs of agression, and seeing none, looked to Crystal for the confiming nod. Crystal grinned and watched Renga try to follow around the much bigger dog. Crystal nodded as Ty spoke about Lyric getting along with their horses. "Sierra should get along with her great, though I'd make sure she doesn't get up Secret's butt, since Secret has her foal with her." Crystal told him, in case he needed a warning about how mares usually behave around strange horses when they have foals. Making a small sound and using her heels to gently nudge Sierra, Crystal urged the mare to step forward, and become friends with the other horse."This is Sierra, And Navajo." Crystal told him, gesturing first to the buckskin mare, and then the brown and white filly beside her. Delia followed crystal, keeping Secret's reins in hand in case Secret decided to try and shove the other mare away from her foal. Secret was nice about it though, reaching out to touch noses with the smaller mare. Breeze pranced forward, eager to sniff the new horse. Turning her head, Secret set her ears back, giving Breeze a warning to behave herself. Delia smiled, and patted Secret's neck. "Special Secret, and Secret's Breeze." She told him, knowing he laready knew their nicknames, and which one was which by the picture. "Secret is.. Sweet, And Sierra sweeter." Delia told him, meaning they were pretty good with new horses. Navaj o shoved her way forward, sticking her little foal nose toward Lyric's. Delia laughed, and Crystal set her hand on Navajo's rope, and kept the other on Sierra's reins, ready to move them both back if something went amiss. So far so good.. Looks like these two accept her, now does she accept them? Crystal thought to herself as she tried to watch everyone at once.. It was a good thing none of them were afraid of dogs, because Renga was still acting as if she had never seen a dog as big as Jet before.

Ty gave a small laugh as Renga shot off at full speed, and watched carefully as Jet turned at the sight of the pup. "Behave yourself, Jet." Ty smiled, seeing Jet walk forward, his nose to the ground, sniffing Renga's sent. Sierra should get along with her great, though I'd make sure she doesn't get up Secret's butt, since Secret has her foal with her. Ty nodded, knowing that mare's could be very protective with their foals. "I'll make sure she stays away." Ty comfirmed, turning Lyric in a circle, as the mare was getting restless from just standing there. This is Sierra, And Navajo. Looking from Sierra to Navajo, Ty grinned as Lyric reached her muzzle out to greet the two horses. It looked like Breeze wanted to see Lyric, but her mother quickly put her into place. He gave a smile at the mare and the filly. Special Secret, and Secret's Breeze. Ty heard Delia say, then tell him that the horses were normally good with others. As Navajo shoved her way forward, Lyric's eyes grew wide at the little filly. "Hello there, Navajo." Ty said with a grin as Lyric reached to touch muzzles with the foal. Good girl, Lyric. Ty thought to himself, giving her a pat on the neck. Jet raced around for a moment, before looking back at Renga. He turned his head sideways, looking confused at the little pup. His long tail swept the ground as he wagged it, clearly wanting to become friends. Shaking, he almost couldn't contain himself at a standstill.

Crystal grinned, happy that Navajo had not gotten bit by the other mare..Yet... If the filly pushed matters... Secret nodded her head, as if to say she accepted the horse, and was heady to move on. She practically pranced in place, causing her feathers to twirl around her hooves, and making her look more elegant than before. Delia smiled and rubbed the mare soothingly, knowing she was eager to go."Ready?" Delia asked quietly, and smiled as she saw Jet staring oddly at Renga."How old?" She asked him, gesturing to Jet. Crystal smiled, and nodded that she was ready, keeping her mouth shut as Delia talked, she didn't want to discourage her form talking, even if she just spoke a little... Sierra gave Navajo a glaring look as the filly tugged on her lead, eager to go see something or other. Navajo just stopped and looked at her, giving her a stubburn look as she tugged again, and then relented to stand beside Sierra again.Renga wagged her tail, and crouched playfully, eager to have some fun.

Ty turned Lyric into another circle, as she got more and more agitated from standing. He turned when he heard Delia speak. How old? She asked him, and he looked to Jet with a grin. "He's about four years. I've had him since he was as old as Renga." Ty smiled, remembering when Jet was a pup, all the training he had to do, but he knew it was well worth it. "We should probably get going. Lyric here is impatient, as you may have seen." Ty said with a laugh, turning the mare to the start of the trail.
As Renga crouched to the ground with a playful look, Jet saw it as an invitation to play. He bounced around, his tail wagging frantically. He ran in front of Lyric, and up the trail, looking back as if to say, "What is taking you all so long? Ty grinned, and gave Lyric a small squeeze of his legs, telling her to move along forward. She obeyed with a toss of her head, satisfied that they were now going somewhere.

Delia nodded, and watched as Renga tried to play with Jet. She nodded when Ty mentioned that Lyric was eager to go, and nuded Secret forward, who in turn pulled along her willing foal. Breeze was still looking at everything and anything she could, practically prancing on her lead. "So Ty, how come you moved here?" Crystal asked, asn she nudged Sierra forward, placing herself just behind Lyric,so that Secret would have to ride beside Lyric. Delia half smiled as Secret fell into step beside Lyric, who was eager to get moving. Secret walked slower than Lyric, but took longerr strides, being a bigger mare. Delia laid one hand on the mare's neck, and kept the other on the reins as she studied her surroundings. SHe notcied all three horses were wearing western saddles, which made her smile a little. She hadn't thought Ty would ride engllish much, but you could never be sure. Crystal smiled, hoping Delia ight be trying to make herself another friend. The girl really was too shy, though Crystal knew why, and could understand. If that had happened to her, she wouldn't be here right now, riding next to some strange guy.. that girl is stronger than everyone thinks... Most people would be locked up with that kind of past.

So Ty, how come you moved here? Ty heard Crystal ask him, seeing her bring up Sierra behind Lyric. For a moment, he didn't answer, thinking about what to say. His past wasn't something he always liked to talked about, but spoke after thinking for a moment. "Well, my parents died when I was young, and I lived with my aunt and uncle for many years. When I rescued Lyric, I knew it was time to start looking for a place to settle down in, and here I am." Ty gave a small laugh at the end, looking down to the side as Secret fell into step with Lyric.
Giving Lyric a pat, he thought he might tell them how he could her. "I got Lyric when I was fifteen, she was in bad shape. A pulled tendon ended her racing career, and the owners weren't willing to spend the time to help her recuperate. I took her home from an auction house, before she went to slaughter."
Ty told the story to Crystal and Delia, hoping that they didn't mind him telling about Lyric. "She was the only horse I could afford, and I spent months helping her get better." He finished, remembering all the nights he slept in her stall, or when half the night awake was spent worrying about her.

Delia looked down at her hands as he spoke fof his past, forcing teards back in her eyes as he mentioned his parents being dead."Mine.. Are gone as well." She whispered, before changing the subject to Secret."Secret was Thin. Found her abandoned, Crystal helped rescue her. Did not know we rescued two."Delia told hom, her voice a litte louder now, making her accent heavier than before. Crystal nodded, both that she was sorry for Ty losing his parents, and to encourage Delia to talk, at leastenough to tell him her parents were gone. She was glad Delia could speak about her parents being dead, thugh that was one of best of her hard memories. Renga bounded along, nipping and biting at Jet's tail as she followed the horses along the trail. Secret was happy as a lark, nodding her head in time with her hooves hitting the ground. Each time the large hooves hit the ground, her feather swirled around her feet, and every time her head bobboed, her mane bounced with it. "Let's see, "Crystal began." I grew up around horses, always wanted to have my own farm. My parents aren't gone yet, but they grow older every day. Soon I will have to start caring for them. By that time, I hope Delia here can help alot around the ranch, since she'll know more by then."Crystal told him, before adding."Sierra was just a normal quarter horse, whom I bought to breed and barrel race. Navajo here, was going to be sold to slaughter after her farm shut down. I saw her, and bought her because I have always liked the breed. And her coloring was very nice. She was fairly cheap, otherwise I couldn't afford her. Her bloodlines are good, and I hope after she proves herself, to breed and sell foals off of her. I've already had people offer to by some of them when I start to breed her."

Mine.. Are gone as well. He heard Delia say, and he gave a small nod, looking down at Lyric's neck, trying not to think about his parents. Looking back up, he listened as she explained how she got Secret. Ty gave a grin as she said that they didn't expect to get two horses. Jet ran in front of Renga, as the little pup nipped as his long, feathery tail.
As Crystal started to talk, Ty turned his gaze from Delia to her, still guiding Lyric with the reins and his legs. He could tell she was happy to get out on the trail, and stretch her legs. Good thing they all got along... Ty thought about all the horses, then focused back on Crystal's voice.
"She is a very nice horse."
Ty commented, as Crystal finished speaking.

Delia nodded, and almost smiled. At least they had something in common, she thought to herself. He had had some kind of a bad past, losing both his parents. But was it nearly as bad as hers? Delia wondered if she would ever find out, but quieted her thoughts. If she couldn't trust him with her own, then why would he tell her his? She wondered. Crystal smiled and nodded when he said Navajo was a very nice horse."Yeah, when she wants to be. Other times she's a little brat." Crystal teased, rubbing the stubburn filly between the ears as she walked beside Sierra."Sierra as well, since she has very good bloodlines, and a good temperment, especially for a barrel horse. She also has talent. Just about anyone could ride her in a competition, she just loves to do it." Crystal rubbed Sierra's neck absently, wondering why no one had gotten the last competition's results.."i don't know what I'd do if I hadn't ended up with five well behaved horses/ Delia has Secret and Breeze, I have Sierra and Navajo, and then there's Ebony Moon.. He's a wonderful gelding, but even now, as soon as we get home, one of us will have to take him on a ride. If he doesn't get rode every day, he gets extremely tempermental..."

Yeah, when she wants to be. Other times she's a little brat. Ty listened, then gave a grin. He knew what she meant. Lyric had her good days and bad days, and her ever changing moods. But, no matter what, he loved her. He continued to listen to Crystal, interested in how the horse would compete for anyone in a competition. "Lyric here, well she's pretty picky about who rides her." Ty gave a laugh, along with a pat along Lric's neck.
As she spoke about the other horse, Ebony Moon, he nodded as she explained about him being tempermental without proper excersise. Sometimes, Lyric could be like that, although Ty rode her often enough that she did misbehave.
