The day was fairly cold. I was pretty sure that it would snow any day now. I had only been here a couple days in this new town and today was the first day that I had ridden since I had gotten here. Pixie and I weren't here to work only to pleasure ride. I would have to start working her out soon though. The two of us walked down the bearless aisle of trees looking around at the park. It had seemed horse friendly enough to ride around at.
I nudged Pixie into a trot then into a canter. Her gait was smooth and she pulled against her reins for she wanted to just let loose. The poor girl hadn't been out alot lately and was just begging to let it all go. Alright girl, I whispered into her ears. Lets go. As I spoke those words a nudged her ribs with my heels and clicked her to go. Her powerful legs took off instantly and her silver mane whipped against the wind.
I hadn't really felt the need for a saddle today since I wasn't going to be doing any jumping. Galloping without a saddle had become an easy thing to do for me. I actually prefered riding without a saddle rather than riding with one. It just felt more...natural.
I didn't let Pixie go for too long before she picked up a sweat. I felt the sickiness from underneath my legs. Maybe it was time to head back.
[ehhh, no muse!]

Blair patted the neck of Valiant her handsome black thoroughbred gelding, his neck was only lit with a damp sweat that had appeared not to long ago after a good gallop down the path of the park. Most would think the park would be for humans and their small companions such as dogs and so forth but to Blair it was perfect in the winter, the wide open was everywhere and not a sole usually came through the park because of the bitter cold weather of Kentucky. Which meant there was so much clear open land that could be used while no one watched, the only thing you had to worry about was if the park rangers came on horseback as well and told you off with a warning. So far Blair was clean and so was Val.
The onyx gelding had his head low as she sniffed the fluffy white snow on the ground below his feet. The weather had calmned down enough today but it would snow soon no doubt. Maybe a half hour or more she should hed back to Greenridge where the horses were probally being brought in now. Anne won't mind. She thought as she flipped a peice of Valiant's black mane back on the right side and gathered her reins.
Blair squeezed her thighs urging the black into a trot, he obeyed with hesitation then his auds pirked up and he whinnied loudly echoing his voice into the meadows of the park. Blair squinted her eyes trying to see what he had seen. "What, Val?" She asked but more towards her than him as she sat back and he began to walk but his steps were higher and his auds pirked towards the open meadow ahead. Blair leaned foreward and saw a grey flash of pelt skim of the meadow. She shook her head then looked towards it again and sure enough a horse and rider were galloping in the meadow. Blair pulled back lightly on her reins and stopped Valiant from going any further.
She watched the rider and horse gallop, she noticed that the horse was indeed grey and that they were bareback. She couldn't tell who the figure riding her was and didn't know anyone with a grey horse but Keith but his was a thoroughbred racer and he wouldn't take a chance on galloping in the snow for sure. She let Valiant walk towards them as the horse and rider slowed and she gave a smile of welcome. Might as well say hi.
