Crystal led the mare toward the gate, smiling encouaginly as the mare as she led her into the shoot..She heard her name announced, but that mae no difference. The butterflies were already reatreating, leaving her and Sierra both ready to run.She mounted up, rubbing the mare's neck as she waited for them to open the gate. Crystal leaned forward over Sierra's neck, and she could feel Sierra gathering herself up, ready to shoot out at any moment. A second later, the gate opened, and Sierra burst out. Crystal guided her toward the first barrel, pulling gently on the reins gently just before they reached it. Sierra slowed slightly as Crystal tugged, and twisted around the barrel, almost laying flat as she took the corner. She missed the barrel by mere inches, but missed it noenetheless. A perfect turn. The second they were around the barrel, Crystal nudged her with her heels, urgng the mare to hurry to the next. Sierra had no trouble, picking up speed like it was the easiest thing in the world, even thouh she had already been traveling at a crazy pace. Crystal's eyes stayed on the barrel as she tugged lightly on the reins, guiding Sierra toward it at just the right angle. She guided the buckskin mare intow hat is usually called 'the pocket' and pulled gently on the reins. Sierra slowed immediatly, just enough to make it around the barrel."Only one left girl." Crystal told her eagerly, letting her hand rest on the mare's neck as she urged her forward out of the turn.Withe rhe heels, she urged the mare faster, though she didn't need much urging. Sierra burst orward out of the turn, straight for the third and final barrel. They were there in a matter of seconds, and Sierra slowed as Crystal tugged the reins once again. She slid around the barrel, almost bumping into it but missing by a hair. Crystal guided her,and they barely made it around the barrel, mostly due to Sierra being excited. The second they were clear of the barrel,Crystal loosened her reins, and leaned forward even more, "Come on Sierra, show em what ya got" she whispered in the mare's ear, though it wasn't needed, Sierra was doing just that. She had burst forward, her black mane and tail flowing freely, her mane caressing Crystal's face as she tried to see. Her black cowboy hat slid back and hung by a strap around her neck, her hair flowing behind them. Her eyes were glossy and happy, she knew they had made a good run. Whether they had won, lost or whatever, they had done wonderfully. Crystal urged her to stop, and Sierra did. Just as they exited the arena, the mare slid to a stop, tossing her head eagerly. Crystal grinned happily at her, and gave the mare a hug, reciving small buckskin colored hairl all over her navy blue western style shirt. She quickly led the mare out, and slipped the black, studded saddle off of her back. Delia was there waiting for her, a big grin on her face as she stood next to the pony she had borrowed from Annie and Ellie."You.. You did great." Delia told her, and gave Sierra a big kiss on the nose.
