"Timothy! Timothy Malark!" a loud, screeching voice snapped, making Tim wince and lift his head from his folded arms.
"Mmm...?" he managed, biting his lip to catch a yawn.
"You know what I'm talking about. If I catch you sleeping again, it'll be a long walk down to the principal's office for you."
Tim sighed. How was she supposed to know that he'd been up late doing homework? He couldn't have let Manny's behavior go unpunished, and gymnastics shouldn't be less than perfection. But he just nodded wearily, for he pitied people who went a day of their lives without horses.
The bell rang, and he made his escape long limbs getting him to the door before the rest of the class, sending him out into the halls and towards the lunchroom. His mind wandered, but he still picked up on people staring at his amazingly blue eyes. They were very, very pale, translucent, almost, and they seemed to have a certain electricity that lured in everyone around him.
He burst through the lunchroom doors, eyes searching out the shorter line. He waited impatiently, tapping his foot and sighing occasionally. He hated school and its displeasures. Hated it. He sat down in a pretty central table, and he felt a self-conscious flush creeping up in his face as he was the only one already seated. He would not sit alone. If it meant sitting with the gothic people, who quite frankly, scared him, he'd do it. But he would not sit alone. He couldn't.
He needed someone, a human, to talk to, and his newness made a steady source of human interaction difficult. But he was bursting to have someone to chat with, to shoot the breeze with, to have a good laugh about the weather with. And unlike previous times, he would try and reach out to people, not just wait, sulking, at one end of the table.

As the young female burst through the classroom door, she felt eyes watching her -more particularly male eyes- as she strode confidently toward the cafiteria. Her long legs carried her their easily, her baby blue eyes shifting over each appearing form. Cassidy was glad to be fifth in line, seeing all the sudents pile into the line for a lunch. When she got to the counter she ordered a small plate of spaghetti, and and apple, with a bottle of water. She gave the counter girl the money, and turned to look at the sitting spaces.
All her new found friends were sitting at a long table. She could sit there, but it was too crowded. Of course, she could bother her little cousin by sitting at his table, but she didn't feel like that today. Her eye searched for a table she could sit at, knowing other people would most likely join her. She only found one, almost empty table. At the table was a guy, roughly her age sitting their, seeming to beg for company.
Cassidy tryed to fit in and not be conspicous, like most other girls would. She slid through the cluster and finally, she managed to get the table. She didn't have to be noticed by him, so she put her tray down on the table quietly, and crossed her legs. They were digging into the top of the wooden table, but she paid no mind. Instead she focused on what to say, or whether or not she should even say anything.
