Clayton shifted uncomfortably in the line up to the school store. Girls looked at him and giggled. He rolled his eyes and when he caught one of their eyes, he stared blandly at them, like they were just another, boring, useless toy on the shelf. Only a couple of mature girls with boyfriends caught his intrest. There you go again, always wanting what you couldn't have. The next few minutes went by slow until he got to the front, where he got a peice of pizza and a coke. He went to the cafiteria and sat down some of his new buddies, laughing often, and checking out girls as they walked by. He finished and said bye, walking to his locker. He rested against his shut locker with his books in hand.

Mrs. Clintan let the table of students up from their seats to grab their lunches, Layla raised from her chair next to a handsome young guy by the name of Dan or her old boyfriend. They were around the same size although they didn't get along like they used to. Layla smiled and waved to her friend as the other girl walked over to her. The girl was taller than Layla with short black hair and georgous big green eyes. "So are you and Dan back together?" She asked as her eyes widened and Layla shook her head no.
"I told you Cara I don't like him anymore."
She giggled then walked off to the lunch line grabbing a tray and placing food items onto her plate. The school was big and she was lucky to be one of the popular freshman and made friends easily. Although she had her rivals here and there in the showing and eventing circuit but also at school too. She tried to avoid being mean altogether but when something bugged her she'd say it outloud sometimes not meaning what she said. She typed in her number for her lunch and handed money to the lunch ladie smiled then walked off to the table in the back of the room where she was sitting. A new guy caught her eye as she came nearer towards where he sat and she thought for a moment realizing she hadn't met the cute kid before. Is he new? Was all that came to her mind although she was new to the school as well it was always good to meet the older guys since they were more her type when it came to being mature unlike most of the guys in her grade.
She noticed that her table was sitting down now and she waved to them then made up her mind and sat across from the guy.
"Hi." She said in her bubbly and normal voice that she used to welcome someone or something. She often used a sweeter voice for her horses but that would be her and her horse friends secret.

Clayton felt hands on his sholders. He turned around, suspecting who it was. Cassidy. She was on of the popular, older girls in the school. She smiled brightly and sat down beside him, mingling with the other guys beside her. Clayton lifted his heads as a girl across from him said hi. She was very pretty. Her eyes shone, her hair was volumous and shiny. He was shocked to see such a mature girl.
"Uh. Hi."
He replied slowly, unsure of what to say to her. His deep baritone voice rang throughout the cafiteria, stoping people from their meals.

A girl she reconized came up to the boy and put her hands on his shoulders there goes my chance... she thought as he finally heard her voice she smiled hearing his own deep voice Uh... hi. Not the best answer but she could live with it. Cara walked by her with one of the other girls giving her a look as if she didn't know what the heck she was thinking. She gave her friend a look back and Cara laughed then nodded her head and mouthed I'll see you in class. She nodded then turned back to the boy.
"I'm Layla," She said reaching over to shake his hand, for some reason it was just instinc to her to shake a persons hand when meeting someone it was just kind of a thing that she had grown up about it made you seem friendlier and also polite. She pulled back a strand of hair that flew into her eyes and lifted it over her ears.

Clayton finished his juice box and focued on the girl across from him. He nodded to a couple of guys that waved at him then met eyes with Layla, who had just introduced herself. He grinned at her, and some girls looked at him with awe. He rolled his eyes and shook her smooth hand, then let it recoil back to his side.
"Hi, Layla. I'm Clayton. Have you met my my older, distant cousin, Cassidy?"
He beckoned to the bubbly blonde beside him and grinned.
"She is quite crazy, and in fact, she is quite hard to live with, especially when she sings in the shower. "
He laughed when Cassidy turned to glare at him. She slapped him on the arm, and for a couple of seconds, it stung. He rubbed it quickly and locked eyes with Layla. He wanted to look away, but he couldn't. He had to much curiosity, and he wanted to make the sticking feeling go away, and make it into something else.

Layla smiled back at Clayton and shook hands then her hand came back to her and as she grabbed her vitimn water infront of her and took a sip. Hi, Layla. I'm Clayton. Have you met my my older, distant cousin, Cassidy? His voice rang into her ears as he looked straight into her eyes and she thought she was so out and open but her heart throbbed back and forth
"Nice to meet you too Clayton."
She turned to see Cassidy finally looking away from his eyes as she thought that everyone could see the slight flush in her cheacks. Although they were naturually rosie she knew they felt hot and she knew that she was probally the only one who could tell.
I think so, Brooke's sister right? She boards her horses at my older Cousins stable." She replied to the question of knowing the blonde that sat beside him. Her questioning was gone now that she knew they were cousins.

{~ xD~} Clayton was able to focus on her and no one else, no matter how much they tried to interupt. He nodded when she said it was nice to mett him. In his mind he mumbled things like "No, I assure you, it was nice to meet you.". But he wasn't going to say it aloud. When Clayton was perring at her, her cheeks seemed to go rosier, but he just thought he was seeing things. "Yes, Brooke's Younger Sister. But you don't want to know about them. What makes me curious, is you. So, Layla, do you have a boyfriend?" He asked sincerly, trying to get to the point of this excersize as soon as possible. He smiled, flashing his white, glistening teeth as he did so.

(*You don't even know how much i'm cracking up right now hahaha Oh yeah people call her Elle, or Lay (:*)
Layla listened to some people try to butt into their conversation but it seemed that the two were lost in conversation by themselves and perfectly happy by the way. Yes, Brooke's Younger Sister. But you don't want to know about them. What makes me curious, is you. So, Layla, do you have a boyfriend? Aw how sweet Layla! He wants to get to know you. Her mind rattled a little thinking up something next to say when he asked if she had a boyfriend. She bit her lip a little then turned to her table where she saw Dan eyeing the two curiously but at the same time she could tell he was mad. She smiled then turned back to Clayton.
"Nope, how about you?"
She asked a little more flirty now Dan seemed to of caught onto her as he got up and stormed down the caffiteria with his tray to dump it. Cara turned to look at her as well and gave her a questioning look but Layla turned away to look back at Clayton. It wasn't Dan who she was trying to make jealous she just wanted Dan not to think that they were still going to get back together. No he had done to much to her for her to even think about taking him back. They were done, gone, advidsay(sp?). She liked Clayton already though, he wasn't shy, he was deffinately cute, and was very friendly. Everything that Dan wasn't. Although she had to admit Dan was cute at first until he ruined it with another girl.

Clayton watched questioningly as a guy stormed by, glaring at him as he went by, for the end, he threw his tray into the garbage. Clayton couldn't help but atleast let a small snort out. He knew that it had something to do with Layla. Speaking of her, her answer made him perk up, small brighter and even act happier. Nope, how about you? Clayton smiled, and he had to admit, the thought of her being ... free pleasured him. He smiled and decidd to make a joke out of what she said.
"Well, no. I'm not gay, though a guy told me once he was attracted to me. I like girls, but it seems none of them were for me, and I guess it's been that way for oh, let's say, a month."
He grinned rested his tanned arms on the table, leaning forward a bit more so he could hear her better.

Layla hid a smirk as Dan stormed by and glared right at Clayton, she couldn't help but feel rather good about making Dan mad, and jealous after all he put her through. Although it wasn't like her to be so, so well mean. Inside she knew she'd hate herself for it but she shrugged it off as Clayton snorted under his breathe and she laughed. Well, no. I'm not gay, though a guy told me once he was attracted to me. I like girls, but it seems none of them were for me, and I guess it's been that way for oh, let's say, a month. She laughed at this joke and smiled brighter, pushing back some of her dark brown hair from her eyes as her bangs were hanging infront of them.
"Well thats good, gay men aren't for me."
She joked back as she took a sip of the last of her vitamin water and began to stand up, looking towards the dumpsters to throw out her tray and food. She wanted him to come with her so she stayed for a second waiting for him to stand as well.

{~Sheesh! So bosy! xD Jk~}
Clayton smiled as the cute girl smiled as, what he thought, her former boyfriend tried to make Clayton feel bad. He winked at her then shook a leg, out of habit. He listened to her mummuring, and nodded. Well thats good, gay men aren't for me.
"Good, because, I feel exactly the same way."
He grinned and got up as she did, snatching her tray away from her, then dumping the remains of the lunch into the trash. He returned and smiled, leaving his sweey smelling chlone in the air.

(haha and he isn't? jk very gentlemenish haha)
A wink came to his handsome face as he spoke, she knew he had probally seen the look on Dan's face. Good, because, I feel exactly the same way. She laughed as he got up then he took her tray and walked off, she gave him a puzzle look as he dumped the trays then returned to his seat. Layla sat down moments later still the puzzled look on her face remained. She gentlemen like. She thought dreamily for a second as the thought of Annie telling her about her previous boyfriend, he was georgous and was the best gentlemen you could think of, very romantic. Layla snapped out of it as she smelt his colome. She inhaled it as he walked by, her arms were crossed as goosebumps were played on her arms. She had forgotten her jacket upstairs.
"Lets get off the gay men subject shall we?"
She joked back and gave a slight laugh feeling a chill run up her back. Why do I always forget my sweatshirt?

Clayton felt his nose sting with pleasure as her perfume sprung up his nose, leaving a lilac-rose smell to drift around. He patted his buddies bqack, then sided by Layla. He noticed her shiviring. His sweater was in his seat, but if she was his girlfriend, the most common thing he would do was put his arms around hers. Instead he reached across the table and let her arms slid into the large sweater.
"No problem. So, excited for the dance?"
His tone was casual, and hinted with question, though you wouldn't notice it. He stared around the room, and shifted awkwardly, wondering what to do.

Layla shifted back a little as he walked by her and slid into his seat infront of her. He must of noticed her shivers as he slid his own sweater onto her and she smiled greatfully, geez I've been hanging around Brooke too much. She wanted to say but kept it in as she remembered how flirty Clayton's older cousin could be with her own cousins fried Keith.
"Thank you," She said as he had given her the sweater and she put it on her, it was big and comfy and she smelt his chlone on it and it made her want to holder it closer as she seemed lost in the scent. Then she realised he was speaking to her again and she hoped she hadn't looked like and idiot, but she also knew she didn't since she hadn't shown anything to make it seem like it. No problem. So, excited for the dance? He asked as his tone was now a little clamner.
"Deffinately, are you going?"

Clayton smiled as she slid into the sweater, excess room roaming around her body. He shifted, so that if at any moment, she was to slip. he could easily catch her. But, they were almost touching, there warm breaths hitting eachother like a breeze. He felt a chill spill up his spine, like lightning. He smiled at her. Deffinately, are you going?. He nodded casually, wondering if this was the right time to ask her.
"Well yeah. But, you see, I don't have a date. I wouldn't want to be a loner. So, Layla, would you like to go with me? I know we just met, but if you don't want to, I understand."
However, if she had a date already, or if she wasn't intrested, then he knew he would feel pain, and he would probably even feel dissapointed that he hadn't gotten to her first. He stumbled into her as one of the senior guys shoved into him by accident. Catching himself by his amazing balance, he straightened and smiled brightly.

Layla had kepted her drink and she took a sip of it, she was now getting warmer as as the two got closer she could feel his breath againest her own. It sent a chill up her spine as she smiled towards him and pulled down her skirt as it was running up on her. Her uggs felt really warm now and she wished she could take them off as the sweater and uggs together were amazing warm right now, or it could be just her breathing and heart.
Clayton nodded his head casually as she replied to his question about the dance, and she wasn't really expecting him to say anything, more like oh maybe I'll see you there... or something like that, that so many guys had used on her lately. She didn't have a date for the first time in 3 months since Dan and her had broken up a week ago and they had bene going out for 3 months. Although there were really no other guys around the school in her grade that she liked. But she got alot of hits and comments from the older guys as well, but she didn't really know what to think of that.
Well yeah. But, you see, I don't have a date. I wouldn't want to be a loner. So, Layla, would you like to go with me? I know we just met, but if you don't want to, I understand. Clayton replied to her and Layla turned to face him her brown eyes twinkled as she looked in his own.
"No I don't have a date..." She said as she said the first part and he kept going into the second half. Layla Livaland! Clayton just asked you out! Her thoughts rattled for a moment then she shook them only slightly tucking one strand of wavy curly hair behind her ear.
"Of course I'll go with you."
She said atlast as she smiled revealing her dimples as she looked towards the table behind him and saw Dan scowl then turn away to talk to his friends. She turned back to meet Clayton's gaze.

Clayton smiled, pleased. He seemed to have the same effect on here as she had on him. His posture was right. He was leaning towards her with intrest, and his eyes were fully on her only, showing that he was only listening to her, and no one else. He nodded when she said she didn't have a date, his heart thudding out of it's steady beat.
He could feel the electricity humming in between them, making it crawl up his bones when she smiled at him. When he smiled at her, he hopped that she also, felt the jolt's wave between them. Speak, Clayton. She just aggreed to go out with you, well go to the dance with you, anyways. And don't forget to breathe. Smiling, he realised he had stopped breathing. He gulped at the air hungrily then smile brighter.
"Well then, now that this is settled. What do you suggest now?"
His hands burned to grab her hand to touch her olive colored skin, and to brush her soft looking face with his lips, or with his hands. Now he was being greedy towards her. He turned and smiled brightly towards Dan, he knew that that would aggravate him. He waved then turned back to Layla once again.

Her hands began to get warm as she was sure her cheeks weren't burning red as before and she felt a chill run up her spine and back down as he looked her in the eye. She couldn't look away but a minute later she flushed a little and did. Oh my god Layla you big baby. Her thoughts rushed as she looked back at him as he seemed to look for words that didn't come out. Well then, now that this is settled. What do you suggest now?
"Well, hm... Let me think."
Layla pretended to think as she bit her lower lip in concentration playfully. She noticed him look towards Dan who was looking smugly over at them and she could tell that Clayton had done something as Dan suddenly turned away in a angry look upon his face. She smirked her dimples forming on her cheeks as she watched him look by at her. She tapped her fingers on the table as she thought for a minute. The bell rang and she stayed on the seat, others got up to get to their classes.
"How about you walk me to class?"
She said as she stood up and patted down her skirt then took off his sweater and handed it to him. The cafeteria was clearing quickly as students arose from their tables and off to their next class.

Clayton smiled triumphly as Dan looked away really angry. He turned towards Layla as she thought about what they could do. While she did, questions ran through his head. Should I hold her hand? Should i put my arm around her waist? What should I do? He looked a bit confused, tehn smiled as she spoke. How about you walk me to class? He could do that. As she handed over his sweater, he pulled it on and faced her.
"Sure sounds good..." He started to walk off i the direction off the north hall way, but then stopped.
"Uh, what's your next class?"
He grinned then shrugged his shoulders. He retreated to her side and awkwardly offered her his hand. It wassweaty, but it went away as he swooshed it i the air.
{How about they have the same class?}

(Sure, uh how about Algebra? haha she can be good at it so she doesn't have to pay attention sound good? lol)
Layla smiled as he looked towards Dan again and he stood up then walked out of the cafeitera. Seeing that Layla had stood up and answered his question Clayton arose from his seat and offered his hand, Layla brougt hers over and felt his wam hand in hers. Awesome. She thought as they walked out of the cafetira and he went to the north hall she walked after him. Sure sounds good... He said then thought for a moment. Uh. What class do you have next? Layla laughed then pointed down the way he was heading.
"Algebra."
